Description
French fries are deep-fried strips of potato, prepared by cutting potatoes into uniform shapes, soaking them to remove starch, and then deep-frying them in two stages: a lower temperature first fry (blanching) to cook the inside, followed by a second, hotter fry to crisp the exterior. This double-frying technique ensures they are soft and tender on the inside, with a golden-brown, crispy outer layer, and are typically seasoned with salt after draining
